Biography
YNW Melly, Jamell Maurice Demons, is a 20 year old American rapper and songwriter from Gifford, Flordia. Melly grew up idolizing Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne. Melly began to become famous after uploading numerous tracks to SoundCloud and Facebook.
Melly had a rough childhood. In result, at the age of 16, he was involved in a shootout. He was charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault and gun possession. Like many rappers, he was constantly in and out of jail.
On June 30, 2018, in Fort Myers, Florida for possession of marijuana, possession of weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon and drug paraphernalia. He was then arrested again on January 3, 2019, in Fort Myers for posession of marijuana.
On Febrary 12, 2019, Demons was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the October 2018 shooting deaths in Fort Lauderdale of two men described as close friends. He still remains in jail until his court date which is still unknown.
