An eco-friendly energy alternative

Green energy is a more sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. This includes solar panels, wind power from windmills, and geothermal energy. Burning fossil fuels is the leading cause of climate change today, so it is important to consider more environmentally friendly sources of energy. For more information, click here.

Deforestation

Deforestation Threatens the Environment

80,000 acres of trees are cut down per day. Trees play an important role in our environment. They take in carbon and create oxygen, which cleans the air we breathe. When trees are cut down at an alarming rate, too much carbon is released into the atmosphere and causes earth's temperatures to rise. Click here to learn more about deforestation.

Pollution Causes Increasing Temperatures

When carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere due to burning fossil fuels, it creates what is known as the "greenhouse effect." This is a build up of gases like carbon in the atmosphere that trap heat from the sun and in turn warms up Earth's temperatures. This is a major threat to the environment.
