Friends is a television show based in New York City. The characters mainly live with or near each other. Monica previously lived with Phoebe, and when Rachel entered the show in the first episode, Monica and Rachel became roomates. Chandler needed a roommate, and Joey eventually moved in. This is how Joey entered the Friends group. Ross, Monica's brother, lived in a building nearby. However, throughout the show, the living situations continuously change. Also in NYC is the infamous coffee shop that makes an appearance at least once per episode. The coffee shop, "Central Perk" has the orange couch that the characters sit on every episode, as well as is the shop where Rachel gets her first job. The shop is home to the many laughs that come from the show.
