Fashion has become an important part of the music festival culture. Starting with Coachella, where celebrities show off their best bohemian looks, festival goers don themselves with flower crowns, kimonos, floppy hats, ankle boots, flashy jewelry and more. Festival fashion has become a look and trend in its own right and with social media and bloggers showcasing the "cool" looks, it has spread across pop culture.
The above video is by H and M, evaluating the best fashion moments from 2015 Coachella. For the past five years, fashion houses, lifestyle brands, and beauty companies including H and M, PopSugar, Lacoste, and Kiehl's have been flocking to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. There, in the midst of the California desert, they've hosted pool parties alongside inflatable white swans, and resplendent brunches on tables decorated with tulle and succulent bouquets of flowers. They've created in-hotel lounges with brightly colored, branded throw pillows strewn atop couches, and escape-from-Coachella portrait studios, complete with braid bars and detoxifying mistes. Brands have incorporated themselves into festival culture.
