Brian Loeffler
Brian Loeffler has been the Head Coach of the Loyola men's and women's Swimming/Diving teams for 26 years. He began as an Assistant Coach in 1991, immediately after he graduated, and has been the Head Coach since the 1992 season. Loeffler also swam for Loyola from 1987-1991, competing in the backstroke, butterfly and individual medley events. Loeffler had a very successful swimming career, graduating from Loyola with two school records.
Loeffler is from Baltimore, and attended Calvert Hall College High School before college at Loyola. He remains in Baltimore today with his wife, Sarah, his sons, Sam and Tim, and his daughter, Lucy.
George Kennedy
George Kennedy comes to Loyola with a lot of experience under his belt. He was the head coach of the Johns Hopkins swimming team for 31 years before he retired in 2016. In his 31 years at Hopkins, he earned Division III National Coach of The Year honors seven times. He coached 31 national champions and won 24 conference titles during his time as a head coach. Kennedy was inducted into the Johns Hopkins Athletics Hall Of Fame in 2014. He also coached at Gettysburg for five seasons before taking the reigns as Hopkins' head coach.
Before coaching, Kennedy was a standout swimmer at the University Of North Carolina, where he qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 backstroke. He remained at the University of North Carolina as an Assistant Coach while he earned his Master's in Physical Education.
Kennedy lives in Towson with his wife, Helen. He has two daughters, Catherine and Sarah.
