Hay II Professor of Philosophy, Evjue-Bascom Professor in Humanities, and Weinstein-Bascom Professor of Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for the Jerome S. Cardin Memorial Lecture on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in McGuire Hall. A Kosher reception will follow the lecture."

(Sept. 5, 2017 | Loyola News - Claire Bilby, senior vice president of sales and services at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, will deliver the 2017 DeFrancis Lecture at Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in McGuire Hall. The DeFrancis Lecture, presented by M&T Bank, brings leaders in business who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and who are of interest to the academic, business, and civic communities.

The topic of the lecture will be the creation, history and nature of the iconic Disney guest experience at Walt Disney World Resort and other Disney destinations around the globe. (Sept. 6, 2017 | Loyola News - A panel discussion on climate change featuring renowned scholars and advocates will headline Loyola University Maryland's fifth Hanway Lecture in Global Studies on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at 7 p.m. in McGuire Hall.

Richard Alley, Ph.D., Francisco Alpizar, Ph.D., and Danny Richter, Ph.D. comprise the trio of panelists for this year's lecture, "Climate Change: The Causes, the Challenges, the Consequences." The speakers will discuss the causes and potential consequences of climate change at a global scale, will explore how developing nations are reacting to the challenges and opportunities imposed by climate change, and will delve into the political environment around climate change action and how to become politically involved.
