Cardinals have announced that they have released Sam Bradford and will immediately be a free agent. They signed him to a one-year $20 million deal in the off-season to be the starter and to be a mentor to Josh Rosen. Unfortunately for him, he was ineffective in his first three starts and was benched.

Since the future is now with Josh Rosen starting as their franchise quarterback, Bradford's time as a Cardinals was inevitably coming to an end. His demotion to third-string behind Mike Glennon was the first sign of his potential departure.
