Venice is the capital of northern Italy's Veneto region. It is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Venice has no roads, it consists solely of canals. The canals are lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square in Venice is named Piazza San Marco, and it contains the famous St. Mark's Basilicia. While dining in Venice, I suggest eating a restaurant with a view of the water! Trattoria Bar Pontina, La Palanca, and Riviera are a few of the best restaurants. Venice is also known for its sweets! Make sure you try a pastry for dessert after you enjoy a delicious meal.

In Venice, the main activity is to go on a gandola ride! The ride is filled with scenic views of the city that a tourist will not be able to see unless they go on the gandola ride. Not only do you see amazing views during the ride, but the person rowing the gandola tells you about the history of the city! It is an extremely relaxing and beautiful way to learn about the city of Venice.
