Grey’s Anatomy takes place in Seattle, Washington. There are many different locations from episode to episode or even season to season. However, the two settings that remain constant through all 12 seasons are Meredith’s childhood home and Sloan-Grey Memorial Hospital. Meredith's childhood home is designed to be the interns/doctors "home-away-from-home". If they are ever not at the hospital, they are most likely to be at Meredith's home. In the show, several characters have mentioned that the house has an open door policy, no matter the status of their friendships at the time.
