History

Tennis has formally been a sport at Loyola since 1939. In 1985 Coach McClure led the men's team to the ECAC Metro Championship. The team also scored third-place finishes in 1986,1987,1988. One year after joining the MAAC the men's team reached the finals of the MAAC Championships in 1990 & 1991.

Since 2013 the Loyola Men's Tennis Team has competed in the presitigous Patriot League against schools like West Point, Naval Academy and Boston University. Since 2013 the men's team has reached the Patriot League quarter-finals each year.

The unprecedented 2019-2020 season saw the men's team compete in only seven dual matches, the fewest in the past 15 years, due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Students were sent home in March of 2020 and the men's team did not compete in another dual match until March of 2021.
