Louisa May Alcott
Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) is the author of the book "Little Women" that the movie is based on. She was born in Philidelphia and later raised in Concord, Massachusetts. The book is in her childhood home, Orchard House, in Concord. The movie is set and filmed there as well.
She wrote "Little Women" in 1868, and later wrote two sequels to it, entitled "Little Men" and "Jo's Boys." The book is loosely based on her own life with her three sisters Abagail, Elizabeth, and Anna. Learn More.
