Marmee March

Marmee March is the mother of the four March sisters, and is played by Laura Dern. She is a very caring individual who only wants th best for her daughters. She is constantly serving her community, helping out families that are in need during the ongoing American Civil War.

Laurie

Theodore "Laurie" Laurence is played by Timothée Chalamet. He is the grandson of Mr. Laurence, and takes an immediate liking to Jo when they first meet. After years of friendship with the March sisters, he finally decides to profess his love to Jo. When he is rejected, he leaves to go to Europe with his grandfather. He eventually marries Amy, and they return to Massachusetts when Beth passes away. Him and Amy have one child together.

Aunt March

Aunt March is an aunt to the March sisters, and is played by Meryl Streep. She is very strict towards the March sisters, because she believes that a woman must get married to a man in order to be successful. She is originally grooming Jo to be the recipient of her fortune, but after seeing thaT Jo will not get married, she chooses Amy, and brings her to Europe. When Aunt March passes away, she gives her estate to Jo, who turns it into a schoolhouse.

John Brooke

John Brooke is Laurie's tutor, and is played by James Norton. He struggles to teach Laurie at times due to Laurie's curious neature, which leads them both to meeting the March sisters. He becomes smitten with Meg and they eventually get married and have children.

Friedrich Bhaer

Friedrich Bhaer is one of the other teachers in New York, and is played by Louis Garrel. He is the first person that Jo meets in New York, and he is immediately infatuated by her. However, she breaks off their friendship when he criticizes her writing. He later shows up at the March house on his way to California. Before he can catch a train though, Jo stops him and they get married.
